Zoomdata Version 4.4

Connector Changes

  • The supported versions of Elasticsearch 6 have changed. Zoomdata now supports Elasticsearch versions 6.0 - 6.7.

  • The supported versions of Apache Solr have changed. Zoomdata now supports versions 6.6 - 7.4. Support is deprecated for all versions earlier than 6.6.

Field Type Conversions

Fields with a MONEY field type are now automatically converted to the NUMBER field type when you upgrade to version 4.4. The MONEY field type is no longer supported. You can specify formatting (such as the currency symbol) for NUMBER fields containing currency data in your data source configurations. See Configuring Number Formatting.

Authorization Changes

Management of the supplied Administrators group can now only be performed by a member of that group or by a user in a group with all of the following privileges:

  • Can Administer Users
  • Can Administer Groups
  • Can Administer Dashboards

UI Changes

The following changes were made to the Zoomdata UI:

  • The column sizes of raw data tables are now saved when you save a dashboard. If you close the dashboard and then return to it, the column sizes you established earlier will still be shown. See Changing Raw Data Table Column Widths.

  • The styling of pivot tables changed to match the style of raw data tables. In addition, you can no longer configure pivot table fields by clicking on the table column headings. They can only be configured from the Configure sidebar. See Modifying Pivot Tables.

  • For consistency and improved look and feel, the styling of some selection dialogs in the UI changed in this release.

What's Fixed?

The following problems have been fixed in this release.

  • Column width settings for pivot tables are now retained and are used the next time the pivot table is opened.

  • The resizing problems of pivot tables has been corrected.

  • An error no longer occurs when deleting an account with custom chart libraries.

  • The unsupported media type error in the Swagger UI no longer occurs.

  • The Request Header Fields Too Large problem in the REST API no longer occurs.

  • The api/sources/key?source=[list of source IDs] API endpoint has been removed and is replaced by the /api/sources/{id}/key endpoint . See What's Deprecated?

  • High memory usage problems no longer occur with the MemSQL connector.

What's Deprecated?

The following features are deprecated in this release.

  • The api/sources/key?source=[list of source IDs] API endpoint has been deprecated. Use the /api/sources/{id}/key endpoint instead. To use the /api/sources/{id}/key API endpoint, you must have any of the following roles or permissions:

    • The user is a member of the View All group
    • The user is a member of the Administrators group
    • The user is a member of any group having read access (at a minimum) for the requested data source
    • The user is a member of any group having read access (at a minimum) for all data sources.
  • Support is deprecated for all Apache Solr versions earlier than version 6.6.

  • The MONEY field type is no longer supported. Fields with this field type are automatically converted to NUMBER.
